James has been with the NFB since 2020 when he joined as head of policy and research.
He was later promoted to director of policy, and since late 2023 has held the role of director of strategy and operations.
Prior to joining the NFB he was a senior campaign manager and public affairs lead at Spink.
He has also worked in politics, as a campaign manager to MP Mike Weatherley and researcher and parliamentary aide to MP Tim Loughton.

“His expertise in policy and strategic insight have been invaluable, and his passion and vision will be central as we continue to grow and deliver even greater value to our members.”
James added: “The historical concept of a traditional trade association is not fit for the future. Together, our team will seek to trailblaze a new way of doing things.
“We have passionate and driven colleagues in our membership, on our board and in our staff, so it is a real honour to be able to join the helm as we navigate the challenges and opportunities that changing technology, culture and the business environment bring.”
